Jaguar has plans of going all-electric in the time ahead
The F Type has been a hugely accepted sportscar for Jaguar globally and is now celebrating 75 years of the manufacturer’s performance pedigree with a special edition. Launched in 2014, the F type has been battling the likes of BMW Z4, Porsche 718, and the AMGs all these years. The sportscar will have 2023 as its final year in production, and the F Type 75 special edition celebrates the imminent retirement. This could also be the British manufacturer’s final ICE sportscar! The outgoing F-Type will continue to sell till the end of 2022, and the special edition will join as a MY23 model. Jaguar has plans of going all-electric by 2025, with the first few models being revealed in 2024.
Jaguar F-Type 75 Special Edition: What Is It?
This special edition Jaguar celebrates 75 years of its speedster lineage. The XK120 was their very first sportscar. Models like the E-Type and XKR have also garnered much respect in the global scene. The F Type 75 special edition pays homage to all these, and will be available in two body styles- coupe and convertible, and with two engine options- 5.0L V8 and 2.0L turbo-petrol.

Design Highlights: The 75 special edition gets a menacing Black exterior colourway. A striking Giola Green shade is also available. The Chrome and the 20-inch wheels have all been blacked out. The grille badge is finished in Black instead of Red, and the R and R-Dynamic motifs now come painted in Black and Grey. Signature badges can be found on the fenders. The beefier F Type R 75 edition offers Carbon Ceramic brakes as payable extras. While most other key areas of its design remain identical to those of the outgoing model, the 75 special edition will have slightly reworked LED taillamps.
Interior: Most of the interior design cues and kit levels remain identical to the outgoing model. Performance seats are standard while sports seats can be specced against extra pay. The cabin is finished in Black and there is generous usage of premium trims and Windsor leather. An Ebony Suedecloth headliner is also offered. Specifications And Performance: Jaguar F Type 75 continues with the outgoing model’s V8 and 2.0L turbopetrol. The massive 5.0L V8 produces 448 bhp and 580 Nm. 0-100 kph is done in 4.6 seconds and the top speed is 285 kmph. An even meatier turbocharged V8 would kick out 575 hp and 700 Nm, taking the 0-100 kph figures to 3.5 seconds! The smaller 2.0L turbo-petrol produces 296 hp, boasts a top speed of 250 kph and does 0-100 in 5.6 seconds. This engine comes with an RWD setup alone while AWD can be had with the other. The special edition F Typer 75 gets an Electronic Active Differential (EAD) and notable improvements to its suspension.
