1400 Units Of Toyota Hyryder And Glanza Recalled

The affected parts will be replaced free of cost.

Due to a faulty airbag controller, Toyota has recalled 1400 units of the Hyryder and Glanza. The airbag controller in this batch is said to be at risk of failure which could possibly lead to non deployment of the airbags and seat belt pretensioners in the event of a crash. The company has advised the corresponding customers to minimise the use of their vehicles until the car has been repaired in a brand workshop where the faulty controller will be replaced free of cost.

Maruti Suzuki also issued a similar recall in December, for the Baleno and the Grand Vitara, Suzuki’s versions of the Glanza and the Hyryder. It is to be noted that both the Hyryder-Grand Vitara, and the Baleno- Glanza are being manufactured at the same facility at Bidadi, Karnataka, owned by Toyota.
The affected units were said to be manufactured between December 8, 2022, and January 12, 2023.

This is not the first time that Toyota has recalled the Hyryder. 1000 units of the Toyota Hyryder were recalled in December due to a fault with the seat belt shoulder height adjuster. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, manufactured at the same assembly line was also affected by a similar issue along with XL6, Ertiga and Ciaz.
