Mercedes E53 AMG
Mercedes E53 AMG is in fact, the second 53 series AMG model to go on sale in India after the GLE 53 AMG, and the very first 53 sedan. It sits above the top-spec standard E Class and below the beastly E63 S 4MATIC+.
The E53 has a reworked styling and now looks much like a facelifted E Class with a bunch of styling improvements. The sedan gets AMG-spec design cues like the 12 slat Panamericana grille, large Mercedes logo, redesigned front bumpers, flatter brake lights at the rear, small boot lip spoiler, and a tweaked rear bumper.
On the inside, the overall layout is shared with the all-new E Class. The equipment list includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, twin-spoke AMG performance steering wheel, Aluminium paddle shifters, haptic feedback controls, sporty AMG front seats and multiple AMG badges.
The AMG E53 4M+ is powered by a 3.0L, in-line 6-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine producing 435hp and 520 Nm, The EQ Boost system can add an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm. The transmission on offer is a 9-speed automatic box and there is AWD as well. The E53 AMG can do the 0-100 run in just 4.5 seconds. The sedan also comes with AMG Ride Control+ air suspension. AMG E53 is priced from 1.02 crores, ex-showroom.
Mercedes E63S AMG
The AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ is essentially the fastest sedan in the entire AMG portfolio. It is the meanest an E AMG can be.E63 S AMG gets a massive 4.0L V8 biturbo churning out 612 hp and 850 Nm mated to a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission unit as its heart and soul. Also present is the 4MATIC+ AWD system. This sedan can sprint to triple-digit speeds from a standstill in just 3.4 seconds and the top speed is 300 km/h.
In terms of design, the E63 S is vaguely the same as the E53. However, look closely and you will find it meaner and more aggressive. The bumper looks more aggressive, the rear diffuser is new, exhaust tips have squared-off designs, and the wheels are 20 inchers! The cabin remains more or less the same as that of the E53. The E 63S is priced from 1.70 crores, ex-showroom.

Sensational young Indian racer Arjun Maini, the first Indian to race at DTM with the Mercedes AMG team, shared his experience driving the E63 S 4M+ at Autobahn, on the occasion of its Indian debut.
“I drove the car on the Autobahn at 300 kmph and returned thoroughly impressed with its top-end performance, as I strongly relate this vehicle’s driving dynamics to that of the GT3 which I am currently driving at the DTM. The AMG E 63 S 4M+ with its efficient V8 mill and an effective 4MATIC+ drive greatly enhances the driving experience. It has brilliant driving dynamics and a solid engine performance. At the same time, the sedan’s luxury and comfort features are quite remarkable for a track car of its calibre and I would love to use it for daily driving or even for long drives.”
