The Toyota Urban Cruiser is essentially a Toyota branded Vitara Brezza
Toyota is gearing up to launch the Urban Cruiser SUV in India in the coming week. The manufacturer has now signed up the renowned Bollywood icon Ayushmann Khurrana as the brand ambassador of the rebadged Brezza. The actor would truly represent the vibrant and aspirational persona of the SUV. Toyota had recently opened bookings for the Urban Cruiser and the car has been amassing decent responses from the prospective buyers.
The Urban Cruiser is the second product that the Maruti Suzuki- Toyota alliance, after the Glanza. However, this vehicle will have more visual differentiations than the Baleno-Glanza twins. Changes i the front grille, headlamps, fog lamp housings and a new brown upholstery are part of the differentiating factors. The SUV will have three different variants and will also be a petrol-only offering. The Urban Cruiser will come with a 105hp , 1.5L petrol engine and a 5 speed manual and 4 speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
The Urban Cruiser will combat the likes of Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and the Vitara Brezza. The pricing of the Urban Cruiser is expected to fall in the INR 8.5-11.5 lakh.
