BMW CE 04 electric scooter looks butch and sprints to 50 km/h speed in 2.6 seconds!

BMW has taken the veils off its new electric scooter, the CE 04. It’s been long since the Bavarian bigshot started developing this e-scooter as part of its ‘Silent Revolution’ strategy and the end-product appears drool-worthy. You might remember BMW showcasing the near-production concept of the CE 04 in 2020, and the current production model, stays close to the same in the overall design.

BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter: What Is It?

BMW CE 04 comes in as a replacement for the C Evolution electric scooter. However, it deviates sharply from the C Evolution on many fronts including the design. The CE 04 looks futuristic and stylish. The overall design and detailing stay close to the CE 04 concept showcased earlier.

The key design highlights include a compact front apron, stylish large side panels, a good-looking headlamp unit, a lean tail, and a modern-looking long single-piece seat. BMW CE-04 comes in two grades- the Standard with light white-matte Black colorway and the Avant Garde Style with a Magellan Grey metallic colorway, Black/Orange seats and Orange wind deflector.

BMW CE 04 comes with multiple storage spaces, in some of the most unsuspecting places, like on the sides and in the front. It even has a ventilated mobile charging bay with type-C USB charger. The scooter also comes with a 10.25 inch high-res TFT instrument cluster with integrated navigation and smartphone connectivity. It also supports split-screen function.

BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter: Technical Data

BMW’s latest electric scooter is built on a tubular steel frame linked to 35mm telescopic forks at the front and preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The e-scooter gets 15-inch wheels shod with 120 section tyres at the front and 160 section rubber at the rear. Braking is carried out by twin 265mm front discs, and a single disc at the rear.

The scooter has a permanent magnet electric motor clubbed with an 8.9 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, capable of producing up to 42 hp, as its powerhouse. The CE-04 can do the 0-50 kph sprint in 2.6 seconds and the top speed is a healthy 120 kph.

The battery can be charged fully in 4 hours,20 minutes via a 2.3kW charger, and 1 hour and 40minutes through a DC fast charger. A full charge can give you as much as 130 kilometers. BMW CE-04 gets three riding modes as standard- Eco, Road, and Rain. Advanced electronics like Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro, and Dynamic Ride modes are available as options.

The global launch of the BMW CE 04 electric scooter is expected to commence sometime in 2022. If or not this will make its way to India, remains uncertain at the moment.
