The production of BS6 Jawa and Forty Two has restarted and the vehicles are now being headed to the dealers…
Reborn classic legend JAWA gets BS6 engines and their specifications are revealed now and are also on their way to dealerships. The manufacturer had launched both these motorcycles earlier this year and had announced a price hike from the outgoing models then. The prices are now up by 5000 to 9928 INR depending on Single or Dual channel ABS and the color schemes. JAWA Motorcycles India has updated their website with the details of new BS6 versions. Though the lockdown had caused a major delay in production and despatch of the BS6 bikes, now things have been sorted out and the bikes headed to dealerships across the country.
There are not many changes to the present models. Both the bikes will be using the same 293cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing a power output of 26.5hp and 27nm of torque, which is slightly lesser than their BS4 engines which produced 27hp and 28nm. JAWA 42 is now heavier at 172kg which is 2 more kilograms heavier than the outgoing model.
The biggest visible change comes with the exhaust due to the addition of a larger catalytic converter, which is now placed below the engine. Hence the twin exhausts aren’t single-piece units like before. The exhaust header pipe is now directly routed to the catalytic converter and then connected to the muffler. The updated BS6 JAWA is now priced at 1.73 Lakh and the JAWA forty two BS6 is now 1.60 Lakh INR ex-showroom.
