The coupe SUV will debut on Aug 2
Citroen India is set to unveil the production-spec Basalt coupe on August 2, 2024. The side and rear designs have already been revealed. The compact SUV coupe has been spotted on test several times in the past few days. Now, a new Grey coloured Citroen Basalt has been spotted on test and shot on video. The new colour reveals more design cues of the vehicles. Images of another prototype wearing Red and Black are also doing rounds on the internet.

Citroen Basalt Design: What We Know So Far
The front section has distinctive design elements that the French marquee is known for. The chrome-lined Citroen logo links the projector headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights. There is also a prominent skid plate and several Black inserts on the bumper.
The side profile gets a coupe roofline, unique trims behind the rear doors, a raked windshield etc. You can also see Black wheel arch cladding, large boot and stylish wheels. The rear has C-shaped tail lamps, a skid plate on the bumper, and a prominent Citroen logo.
Citroen Basalt Expected Features
The Coupe SUV will come with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, climate control, digital instrument cluster etc. There will be no sunroof on offer.
Citroen Basalt Expected Specifications
The Basalt will be powered by the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, as the C3 Aircross. It is expected to produce 110 hp and 205 Nm. A 6MT will be standard while there will also be a six-speed automatic on offer.
Citroen Basalt Expected Price And Rivals
The Basalt will be underpinned by the CMP platform and will sit above the C3 Aircross and below the C5 Aircross. Prices could start around 15 lakh, ex-showroom. Key rivals include the upcoming Tata Curvv and various C-segment SUVs like Creta, Seltos, Elevate etc.
