Hero Xtreme 200S And Xpulse 200T Discontinued- Reason Low Sales?

Hero Motocorp has discontinued two motorcycle models in India- the Xtreme 200S And Xpulse 200T. There has been no official word on why these were axed. But going by the charts, low sales volume over the past few months seems to be the most probable reason.

Hero Xtreme 200S And Xpulse 200T: What Were They?

Both these motorcycles were street-oriented and had their own distinct personae. The Xtreme 200S was the fully faired version of the Xtreme 200R naked motorcycle. To some extent, it used to raise the question ‘Why this when the Karizma XMR 210 is there?’ and this probably contributed to its low sales numbers.

The Xpulse 200T on the other hand, was the road-going version of the Xpulse 200- one of the most popular ADVs on sale in the country. While the Xpulse 200 excelled on the ruts, the 200T had 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless road tyres, making it easier to live with on daily commutes.

Both these motorcycles were powered by a 200cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that used to make 18.9bhp and 17.3Nm. The transmission offered was a five-speed unit.

Road Ahead For Hero Motocorp

Hero has a slew of launches planned for the time ahead. The manufacturer recently revealed a series of interesting models at EICMA, which are expected to be out in the coming years. This includes the new Xpulse 210 and the Mavrick with USDs and a few other upgrades.
