The 293cc, single-cylinder engine of the Jawa and the Forty Two has now become BS6, to meet the new emission norms…
Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. rolled out the BS6 iterations of the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two. The motorcycle brand has been amassing a huge follower base in the country since its market entry back in late 2018.
Jawa currently has three models on sale here- the Jawa, Forty Two and the Perak. The Jawa and Forty Two, have finally gotten BS6 compatible engines. The Perak has been BS6 compliant since inception.
Jawa claims its transition to BS6 to be a natural process, as both the Forty Two and the Jawa were born BS6 ready. Both the bikes get a 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine which now gets India’s first cross port tech on a motorcycle! What this means is that there happens no drop in power and torque numbers in the process of transition to BS6 and with the twin exhaust setup!
With the debut of the BS6 versions, the Jawa Price in India has gone up by sums of INR 5000- INR 9928 across the range. The price hikes owe their existence to the increased costs of the materials used in the catalytic converters used in Jawa BS6 bikes.
Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO, Classic Legends comments: “Riding responsibly is one of the core ethos of our brand as well as our Kommuniti and the Jawa and Forty Two were ready to take on the stricter BS6 emission norms right from the time they were conceived. This is the key reason why both these motorcycles have kept their character and riding pleasure intact even after receiving the updates to make them more environment friendly.”
