From charging to EV education, MG has it all covered!
JSW MG Motor India hosted the ‘DriEV Bharat’ event in Delhi, where they announced the launch of four new EV-related initiatives. MG has launched the eHub by MG mobile application, EVPedia content platforms, a new battery recycling and second life solution (Project REVIVE) and a new infotainment stack in partnership with Jio (MG-Jio ICP). The manufacturer has immense experience and expertise in EV tech and associated solutions and seems have leveraged the same along with some key partnerships, to realise these solutions.
New MG EV Solutions
eHUB by MG mobile app
This application simplifies EV charging and in turn facilitates a smoother EV ownership experience. eHUB by MG app can be used to locate chargers, make slot reservations and pay for charging. MG has associated with various EV charging companies and providers to realise this smart experience. Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq, Zeon are some of the big names in the partner list. Apparently, the onboarding is still an ongoing process and we can expect the experience to get better as we speak. The application also helps in planning your EV roadtrip the smart way an is available in 11 languages. It is available on both Android and iOS.
Project REVIVE
What happens to discarded EV batteries? Project REVIVE answers this by offering efficient second life and recycling solutions. MG has partnered with LOHUM and TERI for this. The project aims to extract healthy battery components from discarded units and reuse them as energy solutions for use in schools and community centres, to provide reliable power to underserved communities.
EVPEDIA
EVPedia aims to educate people on EVs and associated tech. It explains electric vehicle technology in detail and provides the readers with relevant information on electric cars at large. The website also has
ownership tools and calculators, a repository of government policies, and a collection of publications and research papers. The platform also has interactive displays, educational videos, and live demonstrations, about EVs. EVPedia also has an AI powered chatbot named ‘eVir’ for a more immersive user experience.
MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP)
JSW MG India has partnered with Jio to develop a new in-car- entertainment platform called MG-Jio ICP. It redefines the in-car experience. It has an MG app store with a plethora of games, entertainment and learning apps. The system also supports voice commands in 6 Indian languages. There is even a Home-to-Car functionality, an industry first.
