Since the launch of the Urus in 2017, Lamborghini has seen record-breaking sales. In 2024, over half of the 10,687 vehicles sold by the brand were Uruses. That number easily beat the Huracán and Revuelto, showing just how important the SUV has become for the brand. But if you’re expecting Lamborghini to follow brands like Porsche or Maserati and launch more SUVs, think again…

No Bigger SUV Coming!
Federico Foschini, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, has shut down any talk of a larger SUV joining the lineup. In a recent interview with CarSales, he said that while the Urus fits Lamborghini’s image, anything larger would not.

“But when it comes to the larger SUV, it cannot be as sporty as an SUV. It’s too easy for it to be too big. It’s not a Lamborghini,” Foschini said.
He explained that other premium brands in the Volkswagen Group, like Porsche, can get away with multiple SUV models. But Lamborghini, being in a different league, must stay true to its DNA—performance, style, and exclusivity.
The Urus Is the Sweet Spot!
Foschini believes the Urus strikes the perfect balance between practicality and sportiness. It has room for four or five people, space for luggage, and driving dynamics that feel close to a supercar. It’s not just an SUV—it’s a Lamborghini SUV.
That’s why Lamborghini recently introduced the Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid version. It pairs a 612-hp twin-turbo V8 with an 189-hp electric motor, producing a combined 789 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque. All that in a five-door family-friendly package.

No Smaller, Weaker Lamborghini Either
Foschini also made it clear that the brand won’t launch a smaller or less powerful model than the Urus. “You cannot go below, and you cannot offer something that is under-resourced,” he said. Lamborghini is not chasing volume—it’s chasing excellence.
An EV Is Coming, But It Won’t Be An SUV
While there’s no bigger SUV on the horizon, Lamborghini is working on an electric car. Expected in 2029, it will be a 2+2 GT—a sleek four-seater with high performance and lifestyle appeal.
Foschini says the GT format allows the company to explore a new space without losing its brand identity. The car will be stylish, fast, and unlike anything currently in the market.
