Range Rover had made its debut in 1970 and still continues to flaunt elegance
Range Rover is currently in its 50th successful year of production. Land Rover celebrated this great milestone in a unique and absolutely befitting fashion. Partnering with the renowned snow artist Simon Beck, Land Rover created a giant ‘ 50 Years Of Range Rover’ sub-zero graphic inside the 260m diameter steering pad at their cold-weather testing facility in Sweden.
The Arjeplog facility of Land Rover uses a frozen lake to winter test their models. The track here gives the engineers precise assessments of the capabilities of the cars being put to test. Simon Beck created the 53092 sqm ’50 Years’ snow art by walking over 45000 steps on the powdery surface inside the testing pad, accompanied by four might Range Rover SV Models, viz- Range Rover SV Autobiography, Range Rover SV Autobiography Dynamic, Range Rover Sport SVR and Range Rover Velar SVA Dynamic.
Arjeplog is also home to the Jaguar Land Rover Ice Academy. World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua OBE experienced the thrill of ice driving as part of the celebrations here, supervised by trained instructors from JLR.
“I’m really looking forward to June because the Range Rover family will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of Britain’s finest exports and I’ll be defending my world title belts. I’ll be travelling to my fight with Kubrat Pulev in London on 20 June in my new personalised Range Rover SVAutobiography and I can’t think of a better way arrive. Nothing can match its combination of comfort and capability – I guess that’s what you get after five decades of experience.” Remarked Anthony Joshua
