Quick look at the Lexus pavilion
The Auto Expo finally woke up from hibernation after two years and it is nothing short of a celebration for automakers. 2023 marked Toyota’s maiden appearance at the Auto Expo, but it was also Lexus’ debut stint at the biennial automotive event of India. As a matter of fact, Lexus was the only luxury automaker at this year’s show. They had six vehicles on display, including two futuristic concepts. Here’s a recap of what Lexus Cars brought to entertain the audience at the 2023 Auto Expo.
LC500h Facelift
Let’s start with the sleek and sexy one from the Lexus pavilion-the LC500h Facelift. Lexus recently gave some subtle tweaks to its luxury grand tourer like a mildly redesigned front grille and a few tweaks to the inside. Apart from that, it remains unchanged.
The India-spec LC500h packs a 3.5-litre V6 engine with two electric motors good for a combined power output of 354 HP and 500Nm. It has a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery that can offer a range of only 6 kms in pure electric mode.

Lexus LX500d
Lexus saw the 2023 Auto Expo as the perfect opportunity to showcase and announce the pricing of the new LX. Lexus has already sold out the initial allocations for this LC300-based mammoth, with only limited slots assigned for the next batch.
This is nothing but a Toyota Land Cruiser J300 sprinkled with some Lexus flair. It packs a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 diesel engine producing 304 HP and 700Nm. It’s mated to a 10-Speed Automatic Gearbox sending power to all 4 wheels. The Ex-Showroom Price starts at ₹2.82 Crores, which is ₹65 Lakhs dearer than the LC300.
LF-Z Concept
The LF-Z was one of two sci-fi looking concept vehicles showcased by Lexus Cars at the Auto Expo, with the LF-30 being the other one. The LF-Z concept is a precursor to the design language, technology, and performance that can be expected from next generation Lexus EVs.
The LF-Z is underpinned by an all-new dedicated EV platform that’s more low-slung and falls in line with the brand’s performance aspirations. Mega things are coming!
The LF-Z’s rear-mounted electric motor makes 543 HP and 700Nm and comes with Direct4 4WD system. The motor draws its power from a 90 kWh battery, which offers a WLTP-rated range of 600km.

LF-30 Concept
Radical is the best term to describe the LF-30 concept, because it’s something like a Star Wars space shuttle built for real. The interior of this sci-fi creation is based on the Tazuna concept of Lexus. It also features a Mark Levinson sound system with speakers built into the seat headrests and a noise cancellation feature, and an AR-powered SkyGate display.
The LF-30 has a quad-motor setup that’s good for 544 HP and 700Nm. The motor draws its power from a 110 kWh battery that’s good for 500km of range (WLTP-rated)
2023 RX 350h
Lexus debuted the all-new, fifth-generation RX in India at the 2023 Auto Expo. It’ll be available in two variants – RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport.
Lexus has commenced the bookings for the car, with the market launch scheduled to take place before the end of March this year.
It’s underpinned by the TNGA-K architecture, which is 90 kilograms lighter than its previous form and offers an extended wheelbase. The RX 350h packs a 248HP, 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine and the RX 500h F Sport is powered by a 366HP, 2.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Both of them come with a strong hybrid system as well.
LM 350
The LM 350 is a more boujee avatar of the Toyota VellFire. The brand confirmed that they’ll bring this luxurious MPV to the Indian market in its 300h guise and not the 350 variant that was displayed at the Auto Expo.
It packs a 2.5-litre petrol engine combined with a couple of electric motors to churn out a collective total of 197 HP. The front wheels are driven by the motor via an e-CVT gearbox, while the rear motor powers the rear wheels to create an electric four-wheel drive system.
