Mahindra Thar 5 Door To Be Called Thar Roxx!

There were previous rumours of the SUV being named ‘ Thar Armada’

Mahindra Thar 5 door could simply be the most anticipated launch of this year. Many people have been waiting for this product to launch, and there’ve been a lot of rumours and buzz around it. The vehicle is set to launch on August 15, 2024.

With the launch date fast approaching, Mahindra has now revealed the exterior design of the 5-door Thar and has also announced the official nomenclature. There were previous rumours of the vehicle being named ‘Thar Armada’. The manufacturer has, however, chosen to keep these mere rumours and has christened it ‘Thar Roxx’.

• 5-door Thar will be called Thar Roxx.
• Will rival the new Gurkha.
• Will feature both petrol and diesel engines.

Mahindra revealed the exterior design through a dramatic teaser. Much like other Mahindra ads, the reveal video feels epic to watch.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Design And Interior

Mahindra has done enough to differentiate the Thar Roxx from the 3-door in terms of design. While the overall silhouette might look similar, the upcoming vehicle gets an additional pair of doors, different wheel arches, a reworked rear, better-looking headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a new grille design, new wheels, etc. Notable is the fact that the Roxx gets a double-stacked 6-slat grille instead of the 7-slat unit on the 3-door.

While we are yet to get the official images of the cabin, we expect the Thar Roxx to come with features like a 360 camera, panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25 inch displays, and even ADAS.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Specifications

Mahindra Thar Roxx could offer the choice of three engines- 1.5 diesel, 2.2 diesel and 2.0 turbo petrol- as seen in the 3-door Thar. The power and torque figures could be revised, to better suit the vehicle’s nature. There will be manual and automatic gearboxes, depending on the engine of choice. Much like the younger sibling, the Roxx could also offer the choice of RWD and 4WD.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Launch Date And Expected Price

Mahindra Thar Roxx will launch on August 15, 2024. Rolling out new Mahindra models on Independence Day has been a custom for the past few years. In the Indian market, the Thar Roxx will compete with the likes of Force Gurkha and Maruti Jimny (to some extent!). Though there haven’t been any official hints at the same, the Roxx prices are expected to start at around 15 lakh ex-sh. This vehicle could also eat into the sales of C-SUVs like Creta and Seltos.
