A shocking turn of events…
A lot of hype is building around the upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx. We have seen various spy shots of test mules, pictures from TVC shoot revealing key details, official teasers and more over the past few weeks. The latest buzz is rather shocking. A discarded body shell of the Thar Roxx prototype/test mule has been spotted at a scrapyard in Mayapuri Delhi. Motobobyg, an instagrammer published a reel on the discarded shell, which has since been going viral on the internet. There is no clear clue as to how this shell ended up at the scrapyard before launch.
It is not uncommon for manufacturers to discard prototypes or test mules. But, those usually happen post the market launch, and not at a time when the brand prefers to keep key design cues confidential. How did this then end up in Mayapuri? There are various speculations around this.
Some believe this to be accidental. The ones entrusted with disposing the shell might have accidentally left it in open, with time still left for the debut. Another group of people says that this could be Mahindra’s intentional leak for boosting the pre-launch hype. There are people who prophess the ‘Karol Bagh’ theory as well. According to them, aftermarket parts and accessories manufacturers might have bought the discarded shell for getting measurements for their own lineups of Thar Roxx accessories.
Interestingly, none of these theories have been confirmed officially. It is just Mahindra who knows the truth behind the Roxx shell ending up in a scrapyard before the actual debut! The manufacturer will launch the vehicle on August 15, 2024. Recent TVC leaks had revealed some key design cues of the 5 door Thar. The vehicle is expected to come with a plethora of features, tech and safety equipment. There will even be panoramic sunroofs on the top-spec vehicles.
