Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC Launched In India, But Sold Out For 2021!

All the 50 units allotted to India for the year 2021 have been sold out before launch!

Mercedes Maybach has brought in their first-ever SUV, the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC to India. The GLS 600 4MATIC was originally revealed globally in 2020. The vehicle follows the launch of Maybach S Class in the domestic market. 50 units of the 2021 Maybach were allotted for India for 2021, all of which have been sold out even before the actual market debut. The next set of vehicles will be customized and delivered by Q1, 2022. Priced at INR 2.43 Crores, the GLS 600 4MATIC has set a new benchmark in the luxury-SUV segment.

The key rivals to the Maybach GLS 600 4 MATIC are Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Maserati Levante, BMW X7 M50d, and Range Rover Autobiography.

Design Highlights

The overall design of the GLS 600 4MATIC reflects luxury and elegance. Much in keeping with the Maybach tradition, the GLS 600 also gets a dual-tone paint scheme. It comes with 23 inch Maybach multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, a unique chrome grille with vertical slats, front and rear skid plates, prominent wheel arches, horizontal LED headlamps, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and the like.

Interior: Luxury In Every Inch!

The Maybach GLS 600 has a spacious cabin with luxury gone into each of its inches. The cabin insulation sets a new benchmark in the segment, adding further to the plushness inside. The GLS 600 stands competitive in terms of technology and has the latest generation MBUX integrated into the 12.3 inch infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, panoramic sunroof, heads up display, Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system etc.

The second-row seats offer exquisite comfort and plushness. The individual rear seats provide a private-jet-like feel and can be reclined by up to 43.5 degrees and pushed back by 120 mm. All these movements can be controlled and executed electrically. The seats offer massaging function, have provisions for wireless charging and electrically operable leg rests. There are also a couple of folding tables at the rear and a refrigerated compartment for storing your Champagne.

Customization Opportunities

The Maybach GLS has three upholstery options and four trims to choose from. The upholstery choices available are Black Nappa leather, Mahagony brown/ Macchiato Beige Nappa and designo Crystal white/ silver Grey pearl Nappa. The trims on offer are Anthracite open pore oak wood, Brown open pore walnut wood, designo high gloss black flowing lines piano lacquer and designo high-gloss black light lines lime wood.

Specifications:

The Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4 MATIC draws its power from a 4.0L V8, which produces a healthy 542 hp and 730 Nm, and borrows another 21 hp and 250Nm from the EQ Boost system. A 9 speed automatic unit takes care of the transmission duties quite well. 0-100 run can be done in just 4.9 seconds.
