MG showcased the new MG5 Electric at the newest edition of Delhi Motor Show. The MG5 is an electric estate car that’s similarly sized to the Kia Carens and is sold in markets like Europe and the UK. It made its global debut in the European markets back in 2020. This 5-seater electric estate is renowned for its excellence as a family car.

The MG5’s design is not as flashy and flamboyant as most EV’s out there. It gets a set of swept-back headlights, a strong shoulder line, a prominent wheelbase line, an enclosed grille, a raked windscreen and y-shaped taillights.

The interior gets a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen with connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated seats, automatic climate control, keyless entry, etc. Safety features include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera, and a whole pack of ADAS features.

The MG5 is available with two options for the battery pack – a 50.3 kWh unit that offers 156 HP and 320km of range and a 61.1 kWh unit that produces 177 HP and 400km of range. The battery can charge at speeds of up to 87 kW. The Auto Expo showcasing is as an attempt to gauge public interest. Other major happenings at the MG pavilion included the MG4 display and 2023 Hector price announcement.
