But its future now looks secure following an investment agreement with Italian automotive component maker Proma Group. The company has also emphasized retaining several key Recaro employees to ensure a seamless transition and maintain the brand’s renowned customer support.
A New Operational Framework
Aftermarket Products Resumed: Recaro will begin offering its aftermarket seats starting next month, signalling a swift recovery.
OEM Manufacturing Moves to Italy: Proma will relocate Recaro’s OEM production to Italy, where the first batch of new seats will be made.
Global Continuity: Recaro’s operations in North America and Japan remain unaffected by the bankruptcy and will continue to serve customers without interruption.

Recaro’s financial troubles culminated in a bankruptcy filing in July 2024. The company faced ‘significant financial difficulties,’ in their own speak, which were even suspected to have contributed to the production stoppage of the Ineos Grenadier earlier this year.
