Royal Enfield is developing a new platform for Himalayan 450
Royal Enfield is likely to launch a new adventure motorcycle- Himalayan 450 based on a brand new platform, reports the BikeWale website. The motorcycle, codenamed K1, will be the first model based on the new platform, and will debut sometime in Q1, 2023.
However, Royal Enfield hasn’t officially revealed anything about the platform or the model in question. Sources suggest that the motorcycle will have a new 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cool engine producing 40hp and would make for a worthy KTM 390 Adventure rival.
From an illustration let out by BikeWale, the new motorcycle would get a fresh design. The model seen in the graphics has a red and white color scheme on the fuel tank. It gets a familiar trellis frame, circular headlamp, and spoke wheels. The front wheel is 21-inches while the rear gets a 17-inch unit.
The new motorcycle is hoped to get footpegs placed in the center, a thick saddle, and wide handlebars. Expect it to be priced around Rs 2.7 lakh…
