Cadillac isn’t aiming to sell thousands of its new Celestiq electric sedan. This ultra-luxurious EV, priced at a whopping $340,000, is being built in very limited numbers. It’s hand-assembled and fully customized, which means production is slow and exclusive.

Only a Few Hundred Per Year
Tony Roma, Cadillac’s performance car chief engineer, recently spoke to Jay Leno on his show. He revealed that the company expects to produce no more than 250 units of the Celestiq per year in the U.S. That’s similar to the production run of hypercars like the Bugatti Tourbillon.
This car isn’t meant to flood the market. It’s Cadillac’s quiet answer to the Rolls-Royce and Bentley luxury experience. And like those brands, it focuses more on craftsmanship and exclusivity than sales numbers.
Longer Than an Escalade
The Celestiq has a sleek, futuristic design and a wheelbase longer than the massive three-row Escalade. It sits at the top of Cadillac’s lineup and is built to be the ultimate expression of what the brand stands for.

Serious Power and Tech
Underneath, the Celestiq runs on GM’s Ultium platform, the same one powering several of the company’s upcoming EVs. It has two electric motors producing an estimated 650 horsepower—more than what Cadillac originally announced.
Despite weighing around 6,300 pounds, the sedan promises strong performance, thanks to that electric powertrain and a load of high-end features. It comes with Super Cruise for hands-free driving, air suspension, four-wheel steering, and more.
Luxury That Justifies the Price
Inside, the Celestiq feels more like a private jet than a car. There’s a panoramic roof that can tint in four separate zones, a massive HD display stretching across the dashboard, and a 38-speaker sound system. Even the armrests are heated.

Every unit is made by hand, and buyers spend weeks—sometimes months—finalizing the design of their personal Celestiq. This isn’t a car you spot at every traffic light. It’s designed for the rare few.
A Halo Car for Cadillac And GM
While it may not be a volume-seller, the Celestiq plays a big role for Cadillac and General Motors. It shows off the automaker’s future tech and luxury direction, while also bringing new prestige to the Cadillac name.
Don’t expect to see many on the road. But when you do, you’ll know it’s something truly special.
