Simply the cheapest Cross-hatch to buy in India right now!
Tata Motors has now added yet another exciting product to their passenger vehicle lineup in the form of a pocket- friendly cross hatch. Christened the ‘Tiago NRG’ ( pronounced as ‘Energy’), the vehicle is essentially a Tiago in the cloaks of a crossover.
Changes from the regular car include an armoured front end design, tough looking side profile with unique squircle wheel arches, a muscular finisher on the rear tailgate and a rugged skid plate. The car comes with dual tone 4 spoke DurAlloy wheels and an inifinity black roof with integrated roof rails.
The active black interior is further garnished with vibrant Canyon orange highlights and host comfortable Seats with body hugging bolsters featuring a unique denim inspired fabric for quality time on the roads, and added practicality in the form of Cooled glove box and a large boot with 242L space.
The NRG has a promising ground clearance of 180mm, capable of taking on tough roads pretty well. The car remains unchanged when it comes to the mills. It retains the 1.2L Revotron petrol and 1.05L Revotorq diesel engines of the regular car, mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. There are three color options on offer – Malabar Silver, Canyon Orange and Fuji White.
Commenting on the introduction of a yet another class defining product, Mr. Guenter Butschek, CEO and MD, Tata Motors said– In line with our brand promise ‘Connecting Aspirations’, we want to be in sync with the growing trend of bringing to market more SUV like vehicles. To meet this aspiration, we have launched today, the Tiago NRG as our ‘Urban Toughroader’. With this launch, we are extending the Tiago brand and increasing our presence by entering into newer segments and tapping new sets of buyers. This launch is a step towards our Turnaround 2.0 journey, as we continue to focus on ‘winning sustainably’ in the PV business. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the Tiago NRG just like the Tiago hatchback.”
The Tiago NRG is priced at INR. 5.49 Lakhs for the petrol
version and INR 6.31 Lakhs for the diesel version, ex-showroom Delhi.
