The pickup truck is priced from 30.40 lakh in the domestic market
Demand for the Toyota Hilux is soaring in India, especially after the recent price slash. This has also contributed significantly to its waiting period in the country.
As of November 2023, the Toyota Hilux commands waiting periods of up to four weeks, extending till the end of the month. Prospective buyers are experiencing this delay irrespective of their choice among the Standard, High, or High AT variants of the vehicle.
It’s important to note that earlier this year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor introduced an impressive 70 percent buyback scheme for the Hilux, coupled with substantial price reductions of Rs. 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) in March. These have evidently fueled the already strong customer demand for the truck, generating spikes in the waiting period.
Toyota Hilux has a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine generating 204hp and 420Nm (500Nm for the automatic variant), coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
It comes with a rugged chassis and proper 4WD tech including a low-range gearbox and electronic differential locks. The Hilux also has impressive approach and departure angles, along with a water-wading capacity of 700mm.
The cabin gets features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 6-speaker audio system, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, auto-dimming IRVM, and various others.
If you are thinking about buying one, make sure to consult the nearest Toyota dealership to know the exact waiting period quoted by the dealer/ in your area.
