2021 Jeep Compass has been unveiled for Europe and gets a new petrol heart and a bunch of equipment upgrades
The all new Euro-spec Jeep Compass has been revealed and with minimal cosmetic tweaks. The new Compass, however, gets a bunch of feature and equipment upgrades along with a dashing new petrol engine.
Before we move on to the details of the new mill, let us cast a quick look at what has changed elsewhere on the car. The alloy wheel design and the exterior paint schemes have been revamped on the Euro Spec car. The 7/ 8.4 inch infotainment system inside the cabin now gets Jeep’s latest UConnect 5 technology, which incorporates Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.
Speaking of the engine, a new 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine now replaces the bigger 1.4L unit and provides for increased performance and improved fuel economy. The new mill will come in tunes of 128hp/270Nm and 148hp/270Nm.There would be a 6 speed manual and 7 speed dry dual clutch transmissions on offer on the updated Compass.
The European market already has a 1.6L Multijet II Turbo diesel-powered version of the Compass on sale. The diesel heart is good enough to let out 118hp and 320Nm. This front-wheel driven version of the SUV can be had just with a 6MT.
Besides the new petrol motor in action, the overall dynamics and body roll have all been well taken care of in the update. The updated Jeep Compass would go on sale in Europe before heading to Brazil and India. We are hoping for a 2021 entry of this version here…
