Mercedes Benz India has launched the MY21 GLC SUV in the country. The German Luxury car giant has not gone for any notable reworks on the car. All the new GLC gets are mere feature and equipment additions and the much-acclaimed Mercedes Me Connect technology. The prices for the 2021 Merc GLC start at INR 57.40 lakh and the top of the line GLC 220d 4M would come to you for an ex-showroom price of INR 63.15 lakh. This essentially means that the SUV has now become around INR 2.02 lakh pricier than its predecessor.

The GLC has been one of the key models for Mercedes Benz in India. It was the carmaker’s most sold SUV in 2020. Mercedes has sold over 8400 units of the GLC in India till date. The C-class based SUV used to offer class-leading comfort, space and features all the while. Things have only gotten better with the update. The 2021 model comes with a number of new equipment additions on the inside. Mercedes Benz India has also given two new exterior paint schemes to the 2021 GLC- a catchy ‘Brilliant Blue’ and an elegant ‘High Tech Silver’

The coolest thing about the new GLC is the integration of Mercedes Me Connect technology. This connected car technology from Mercedes Benz has Alexa and Google Home integrated into it and can even display the parking location on its navigation. The infotainment unit gets a touchscreen interface for easy operation. A new 12.3 digital display now does the instrumentation duties and offers selectable styles for the same, thanks be to the MBUX tech onboard.

The 2021 GLC gets massage function for the front seats, a first in the entire Mercedes India lineup. There are also things like remote engine start and parking package with a 360-degree camera on offer. These would all make the cabin experience of the new GLC even more comfortable and luxurious.

The mechanicals on the car remain unchanged and the GLC continues to be powered by the same 197 hp 2.0 L turbo petrol and 194 hp 2.0 L diesel engines as the previous model, The familiar 9-speed automatic box is the only transmission on offer on the new car as well. The diesel GLC gets 4Matic AWD too. The key rivals to the updated GLC include BMW X3, Volvo XC60, and Audi Q5. The Q5, however, is to soon get a notable facelift in the country,
