2021 Mini 3-Door, Convertible, And JCW Hatch Launched In India

The 2021 Mini lineup comes with an assortment of upgrades

Mini India has announced the launch of the all-new Mini three-door hatchback, Convertible, and the JCW hatch. These come in via the CBU route and get offered with petrol engines. The cars are available for test drives and bookings at Mini showrooms pan India. Mini had launched the facelifted Countryman earlier this year. The carmaker’s current India line-up includes the hatchback trio and the Countryman.

Exterior Styling Updates

The updated hatchbacks get bestowed with modified nose designs featuring new bumpers. The 3-Door hatch and Convertible feature a body-colored panel bisecting the grille and roof-mounted spoiler. The JCW gets equipped with improved air vents in the bumper and a black mesh grille. You could also find red highlights and bonnet stripes. A contrast touch for the roof and mirror caps in white and black adorn photo finishes to the 3 door Mini hatch and the convertible, while the JCW has it in an exclusive chilly red! The trio runs on new 17-inch alloy wheels as well (18-inch wheels are optional on the JCW).

Other highlights include LED headlights with integrated fog lights, LED indicators, side scuttles, rear parking sensors, British-flag-inspired rear-light graphics, new air intakes etc. The new Mini range is available in a total of 11 color schemes.

Interior Updates

On the inside, the updated Mini siblings get a new steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, new gear selector mechanism, sports seats, improved 8.8-inch touchscreen with Harmon Kardon audio, wireless charger, updated surface trims and upholstery options. The 2021 Mini hatch and convertible have cloth/leatherette upholsteries finished in Black Pearl Light Chequered and Black Pearl Carbon Black. The JCW, however, gets sportier upholstery and interior colors.

Engine Updates

The Mini 3 Door Hatch and Convertible are powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine that makes 189 BHP and 280 Nm at 1,350-4,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Hatch can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the Convertible takes 7.1 seconds for the same.

The new Mini JCW has the 2.0L turbo petrol engine in a state of tune where it makes 231 hp and 320 Nm, at 1,450-4,800 rpm. 0-100 km/h come in 6.1 seconds.
