The new top-variant gets more equipment and better styling…
Suzuki’s ‘maxi-scooter’ Burgman Street gets a new top-of-the-line variant- Burgman Street EX, priced at 1.12 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variant is priced at Rs 22400 higher than the existing base model, and Rs 19000 more than the mid-spec trim. Suzuki justifies the premium pricing by adding more equipment to the package.
The Suzuki Burgman Street EX comes with a list of new features. A silent starter system and an auto start/stop function are the highlights. These systems help in achieving better fuel efficiency when combined with Suzuki’s Eco Performance Alpha (SEP-α) tech– an advanced version of the brand’s fuel-saving Eco Performance Technology.

The EX variant weighs 111 kg, 1 kg heavier than the standard variant. It also has a 25mm longer wheelbase and is 5mm narrower than the other two variants. The tyre size also undergoes a significant change as a larger 12-inch rear wheel replaces the 10-inch unit on the standard variants. A wider 100/80-12 tyre is also used. The Burgman Street EX comes in three new colour schemes – Metallic Royal Bronze, Metallic Matte Black, and Metallic Matte Platinum Silver No 2.

Other than these, the Burgman Street EX variant is pretty much identical to its smaller siblings. It is powered by a 124cc, two-valve, single-cylinder engine, producing 8.6 bhp at 6750 rpm and 10 Nm at 5500 rpm. It comes with the same telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm-type suspension at the rear. A combi-braking system consisting of a front disk and rear drum is given to the top-spec Burgman. TVS NTorq Race Edition and Aprilia SXR 125 are the closest rivals to the Burgman Street EX.
