2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 and 180: What Are The Changes?
The visual tweaks include new designs for the LED headlamp and taillamp units, the latter now comes with a new 3D element inside. There are also a new set of body graphics and decals now on these motorcycles. The rear tyres are now 120 mm units.
TVS has also stuffed in a bunch of new features into these motorcycles. These now get all digital instrument clusters with Bluetooth-based connectivity (SmartXonnect) – almost identical to the ones found on the 4V Apaches. Functions on offer are navigation, telemetry, gear shift/position indications and more. There is also support for voice commands on offer.
TVS has also given the new Apache 160 and 180 selectable ride modes- Rain, Urban and Sport- which plays with the acceleration and braking to ensure optimum riding experiences in various conditions. These can be controlled and toggled using a dedicated set of buttons on the handlebar.
Mechanical changes are rather reassuring. The kerb weight of RTR160 and RTR 180 have gone down by 2 kilograms, bringing about a significant advantage in the power-to-weight ratios.
