The new Verna gets the Sensuous Sportiness design language of the brand
The all new 2023 Hyundai Verna is set to make its global debut on March 21. Ahead of this market launch, Hyundai has now officially released the first designer sketches of the exterior of the new Verna. The bookings for the new car is currently open and you can book the car from their official website or any authorised Hyundai dealership with a token amount of Rs. 25,000.
Hyundai says the new-gen Verna gets the Sensuous Sportiness design language of the brand, which is also seen on the latest versions of Tucson SUV, new-gen Elantra and Hyundai Grandeur sedan. The new car gets significant design revisions from its predecessor. The new model looks more aggressive, ferocious and futuristic. It brings a number of never-before styling elements into a car in this segment. The new split headlamps design looks much more premium than the old Verna. They’ve also installed a LED lightbar that connects the two edges at the front. The Tucson inspired grille is almost the complete width of the car. The bumper edges are sharpened like an arrowhead to induce that striking appeal.
The body lines are the most prominent things that you can see on the exterior of the car. The subtle-looking flat bonnet also has some creases on each sides. The character lines blends in with the design and merges neatly with the flared wheel arches. The side-lines are so deep and prominent, that it gives the car a muscular look. The rear quarter of the sedan resembles of a fastback. A chrome trim under the glasshouse can also be seen highlighting the exterior. The sketches also shows very stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels. These could be missing in the production model though.
The rear end of the new Verna hasn’t been revealed by the company yet. But renderings from the earlier teasers indicates that a full-width LED light bar and crystal-like inserts in the tail lamps will decorate the rear end of the 2023 Verna.

The new Verna will only be available in Petrol. Two powertrain options are available in the new model, as Hyundai introduces a 1.5L direct-injection turbo petrol engine capable of producing 160 hp. This will come mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic. The new Verna will retain the 115 hp, 1.5L NA petrol mill from the outgoing Verna.
4 variants : EX, S, SX and SX (O) will be offered by Hyundai and the new car is expected to be priced around Rs. 60,000 – 1 lakh more than the current model. The 2023 Verna will rival the likes of VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, upcoming Honda City facelift and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
