This massive chop-off in price comes as a result of the recent revision to FAME 2 policy

The Electric vehicle segment is now making the most out of the escalating subsidy under the recent Fame-II policy amendment, garnering more customers and acceptance pan India. Under the Fame II policy, the previous subsidy rate for electric two-wheelers was Rs 10,000/kWh which has now been hiked to Rs 15,000/kWh. Two-wheeler EVs with top speeds of at least 40 km/h and a minimum range of 80 kilometers per charge are eligible for the new discounts. This subsidy revision has come in at an opportune time and is accelerating domestic EV sales, contributing to the government’s vision of making India an EV nation by the upcoming decade.
Big drop in Jitendra Electric Scooter price!
Nashik-based Jitendra Electric Vehicles has announced its electric scooter JMT1000HS to have massive chunks shaved off from its price. The EV was earlier priced at 74,077. However, with the new policy in place, it gets a discount of INR12,082, and the new price stands at INR 61,995.
The JMT1000HS e-scooter is available with a 1 kW motor and 2 kW battery, gets at a top speed of 51 km/h and offers a range of 90 km. The scooter gets features like regenerative braking, find-my scooter features, reverse assistant, and dual saddle seats. The rear seat clamp makes it possible to accommodate a cargo box for commercial use.
The scooter weighs 150 kg, measures 1,870mm in length, 690 mm in width, 1100 mm in height, and has a ground clearance of 175 mm. It can carry loads of up to 170 kg, over gradients of up to 7 degrees, and offers a warranty of 3 years.
Price cuts from other EV makers
Other EV makers across the country have also been offering cuts in prices following the Fame II amendment. Ather Energy now quotes a ‘fairer’ price for its 450X and 450 Plus. Okinawa Autotech has also announced INR 7, 500 -15, 000 cuts on the iPraise+, Praise Pro, and Ridge+ electric scooters. Revolt also has a revised price chart for the RV400. The new RV400 price is INR 90,799, much akin to that of the popular Bajaj Pulsar NS125. All-electric TVS iQube is now priced at INR 1,00,777.
