Tata Sierra EV is underpinned by the Sigma platform
Tata Motors has brought a pre-production concept model of the Sierra EV to be showcased at the ongoing 2023 Auto Expo. This year’s show has been all about electrified products and Tata have had their fair share of it. They also showcased the Harrier EV concept alongside the Sierra EV.
However, this isn’t the first time that Tata has brought the Sierra EV to the biennial automotive event of India. They showcased an initial concept of the Sierra at the previous edition of the show in 2020. But, it has evolved over time and this year it has been presented in a pre-production avatar.
The Sierra EV is underpinned by the Sigma architecture. Visually, it gets a prominent faux skid plate, sculpted front bumper, LED light strip that runs the entire width at the front, small headlamp units located in the black housing, squared-off beefy wheel arches, flushed door handles, strong shoulder line, sculpted lower sides, subtle rear spoiler, smooth-flowing design for the tailgate, single unbroken LED taillight strip and a sculpted rear bumper. It gets a distinctive star fish design for the wheels.

The interior takes on a minimalistic design and layout. It has a slightly-tilted, retro-style steering wheel with illuminated buttons and illuminated Tata logo at the centre; two digital screens-one for the infotainment and the other as the instrument cluster, a middle dashboard design that appears similar to the new Ford GT, etc.
Tata hasn’t revealed anything regarding the battery and powertrain of the Sierra EV.
The Sierra EV is expected to be launched by 2025.
