Pravaig Veer could make for a capable military vehicle
Bengaluru-based startup Pravaig Dynamics is showcasing its brand-new Veer EV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Veer EV is based on Pravaig’s Defy EV, specifically made for use by the Armed Forces. It is 4,940mm long, 1,950mm wide, 1,650mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,030mm. It weighs 1.87 tonnes, and has a claimed payload and towing capacity of 690 kilograms and 2,500 kilograms, respectively.
In terms of design, it has a bare-bone structure and comes with only the necessary components such as a rollbar, bonnet, fender panels, and a trunk as standard. Pravaig Veer EV doesn’t get any doors as standard for easier ingress and egress for soldiers, but it can also be opted to have a closed-cab design.

Since this is a military-purpose vehicle, there are some unique features like thermal imaging sensor, airlift hooks, 4-tonne winch, 2-tonne hitch, IP65-rated storage compartment, and mounting points for the weapons or any equipment. The Veer EV runs on run-flat tyres.
Like the exterior, the interior is also designed with a minimalistic approach, containing only the essential panels and components. It gets a central touchscreen, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags, 360-degree camera with 12-ultra sonic sensors, 77GHz radar, etc. The closed-cab models also come with a HEPA air filter. All these features are powered by a MultiVAC computer system.

The Veer EV packs a dual-motor setup with AWD as standard. The PMSM motors produce a combined 408 HP and 620Nm of Torque. The motors draw power from 90.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers a range of over 500km. The company claims that the battery life is rated at over a million kilometres and can be charged from zero to 80 percent in a matter of 30 minutes.
