Toyota Kirloskar Motor has brought in a new special edition to the hot-selling Fortuner SUV. The Toyota Fortuner Leader edition is now on sale in India, and there’s something interesting about it! The India-spec Leader edition is based on the regular Fortuner, while in markets like Thailand, the same is based on the Legender! Well, here are some quick facts about the India-spec Fortuner Leader edition:
The Leader Edition is an attempt at making the hugely popular SUV stand out of the crowd. It is based on the 4×2 variant alone and gets no mechanical changes from the regular 4×2 Fortuner. What it has though, is a set of accessories and enhancements that the regular car misses out on. The 2024 Toyota Fortuner Leader edition gets the following enhancements:
- New dual-tone exterior colours: Super white & A. Black, Platinum Pearl White & A. Black, Silver Metallic & A. black and with Black wheels. (Toyota calls this palette ‘black, white, and clarity’)

The special edition Fortuner Leader is powered by a 2.8L diesel engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6AT transmission. The powertrain is capable of producing 201hp and 420Nm with the manual gearbox, while the AT boosts the output to 500Nm. The Leader edition is available in the 4×2 guise alone.
