Gets dual CNG cylinders for added practicality
Hyundai India has launched the CNG version of Exter micro-SUV in India, calling it the Hyundai Exter Hy CNG Duo. It comes with dual-cylinder technology for added space and practicality. The Exter CNG is priced from Rs 8.5 lakh, ex-showroom, and is available in 3 variants.
Hyundai Exter CNG uses the familiar 1.2 Kappa engine that now runs on bi-fuel: both petrol and CNG. Output figures are 69PS and 95.2 Nm. The only available transmission remains the 5-speed manual. There is no AMT on offer. Hyundai claims an efficiency of 27.1 Km per kg for the Exter Hy CNG. The factory-fitted CNG kit here comes with an integrated ECU that seamlessly switches between fuels.
Like what we had previously seen on Tata CNG cars, the Exter CNG uses dual cylinders to store CNG. This saves space and it doesn’t have to compromise on boot capacity. The total tank capacity here is 60L. Hyundai also sells a single-cylinder version of the Exter CNG in India.
