The facelifted Nissan Kicks is all set to be launched on December 8, 2020 in the US and Nissan drops in a video teaser of the car ahead of it.
The new Kicks had earlier debuted in Thailand in March 2020. The car features a new V-fashioned grille accompanied by a very sharp looking set of LED headlamps, new bumpers with fog lamps integrated into the side air vents. The rear section is likely to stay the same although with some minor LED styling. For the US though the rear bumpers may get a new design and alloys a different style. Nissan might as well offer some new color schemes to keep things fresh. The interiors will also be tweaked to further improve the feel.
The main point of attention though is the hybrid powertrain which Nissan calls ‘e-Power Technoloy’. The system uses a 1.2L 3-pot engine to power a high-output battery which then powers the EM57 electric motor sitting on the front axle, meaning that the wheels are completely driven by the electric motor. The configuration comprising of the 1.2L engine coupled with a CVT box and the electric motor altogether produces 129hp and 260Nm of torque in the Kicks.
Nissan offers several driver-assist technologies namely, an all-round view camera, automatic braking, and warning of the moving objects around the car, as such. 6 airbags come standard across the range. Would you like to see the new Kicks in Nissan India’s line-up? Tell us in the comments.
