Ather Energy To Launch A New Electric Scooter Soon | Early Details

More colours could also debut on the Ather 450X

Banglore-based Ather Energy could debut a new electric scooter on January 7, 2023, on the occasion of their ‘community day’. While the details about the event or the upcoming product are scarce, it is speculated that it could be an all-new e scooter or a more affordable version of the 450X, that would possibly be rolling out.

Current Ather lineup includes the gen-3 450 plus and the 450X, priced at ₹1.35 lakh and Rs 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. These are on the pricier side when compared to other electric scooters such as Ola S1 and S1 Pro and the TVS iQube. The new launch is expected to address this cost concern and be on the more affordable side. It could use a tubular steel frame instead of the current model’s expensive Aluminium lattice.

Some reports suggest that the upcoming Ather scooter could get a maxi-scooter form, as the company had recently registered a patent for one with a similar silhouette. Besides the new product, Ather could also roll out more colours on the existing models- 450 Plus and 450X, at the January event.
