EMotorad EMX+ Design

The EMX Plus is a practical electric MTB with a good-looking design. The cycle is available in two dual-tone colours- Neon Green and Aqua. It comes with an 18.5″ 6061 Aluminium alloy full-suspension frame. The lightweight construction and design, add to everyday livability. It weighs 21 odd kilograms.

There is also a digital display on offer, that shows the speed, battery levels, pedal assist modes and various rider information like trip, odo, and time. The bike also has an efficient 100Lux headlight and an integrated horn.

The e-bike comes with an adjustable dual suspension setup with lockin lockout functions. The front fork offers up to 100mm travel while the rear travel ranges from 10-20 mm. The cycle rides on 27.5″ x 2.0″ Kenda Nylon tyres. These are shod on double-wall Aluminium alloy rims.

There are mechanical disc brakes on offer, on both wheels. These come with an Auto Cut-off function, that breaks electric power when you try to brake.

EMotorad EMX+ Specifications

In addition to its fully suspended frame and 21-speed gearset, this bicycle gets an electric powertrain to further support the rider with a full-throttle mode and selectable pedal assist. It comes with a 36V 13Ah Lithium-ion battery that features a removable design.

A rear hub-mounted 250W electric motor completes the electric powertrain. The cycle offers both an all-electric mode (Throttle mode) and five levels of pedal assist wherein the motor works in tandem with manual pedalling.

EMotorad EMX+ cycle comes with 21 speed Shimano Tourney Altus gearset. The 3×7 gearset has a 3-speed front shifter and a 7-speed rear drivetrain.

Ride Impressions And Performance

Let’s discuss the ride. So, how do you get started with the EMX Plus cycle? Assembling the bike is easy, thanks to the toolset that comes along. It’s time to get going once the battery is assembled and charged to satisfactory levels. Follow these steps to start the EMX+

1. Switch on the battery pack.
2. Put the key in and turn it to ‘ON’ position.
3. Turn on the electric powertrain and LCD by pressing the power button on the console.
4. Use the + and – keys to select the desired PAS (Pedal Assist) levels.
5. Enjoy your ride!

Riding EMotorad EMX+ is easy and enjoyable. The seating and rider triangle are comfortable for people up to 6ft tall. There are five levels of PAS, including a Walk mode. The ‘Walk mode’ provides electric assist when you end up walking along the cycle.

Ride impressions:

• There is a noticeable difference between various PAS mode outputs.
• Riding is easy and comfortable.
• Seat cushioning is great for most people. You will not hurt your sit bones or tail bones with it.
• The mechanical disc brakes are good in most scenarios. However, i would appreciate some more bite and stopping power from these.
• The suspension is comfortable on bad roads and ruts.
• The tyres perform well on both roads and terrains.
• You can use the throttle to accelerate quickly. Particularly useful when you try to cross roads or quickly overtake other cycles.
• The bike has a max speed of 25 kph on electric power. However, it feels quite stable even at indicated speeds of 29 kph in downhill runs.
• The lightweight construction makes it easy to do stunts or have some extra fun with the bike.

How to remove the battery?

Easy!

1. Turn off the vehicle.
2. Turn off the battery.
3. Use the second key to unlock the battery pack and slide it out.

EMotorad EMX+ Range And Charging Speed

• The EMX+ has a 2A charger that charges the battery pack up to 80% in just 2.5 hours.
• The bicycle offers a range of up to 80 km when using pedal assist.
• Range drops to 60 km, should you choose to use the throttle mode.

• The suspension setup and its performance.
• Build and paint quality.
• Headlamp illumination.
• Easy to assemble and dismantle.
• Easy to maintain.
• A removable battery makes it convenient to charge.

Cons: Here are things that could be improved:

• Brakes could offer better bite and feel.
• PAS kick-in could be softer and made more linear.
• The LCD is not the most readable under harsh sunlight.
• There is no bottle holder or storage space available.
• The mudguards or fenders could be larger. The rear makes for splashes on the rider while negotiating waterlogged paths.
