Honda Trademarks ‘X ADV’ Name In India, Launch Soon?

Honda X ADV is described as a two-wheeled SUV by the manufacturer

Honda has filed the trademark for X-ADV name in India, hinting at a possible launch of its Adventure Scooter-bike crossover here. Honda X-ADV is currently available in Europe, America, and some Asian countries such as Malaysia.

The X-ADV, first introduced in 2017, is described by Honda as a two-wheeled SUV combining the capabilities of an ADV Motorcycle with the comfort of a maxi scooter. It uses a 754cc parallel-twin paired to a 6-speed semi-automatic dual-clutch transmission. It can churn out 58 BHP and 69Nm.

The vehicle will have a 17-inch front wheel and 15-inch rear rim, both with rust-resistant Steel spokes, to help X-ADV navigate through both tarmac and off-road with equal ease. Block-pattern tires and 150mm suspension travel are added advantages.

Updates on the new model include a lighter frame, redesigned seat and body works, 21L under-seat storage, a USB port for smartphone charging, DRLs, keyless ignition, and a large TFT screen. The vehicle comes in five colors, including a stunning Grand Prix Red, in global markets.

Even though Honda has trademarked the name, there’s no guarantee that they would bring this unconventional model to India, and not settle down for something milder. Fingers crossed…
