Sajeesh Kumar from Muthoot Motors, Kochi, Kerala beats 16,000 contestants from 30 countries hands down, to grab the title!
India brims with pride as Sajeesh Kumar, an employee of Muthoot Motors, Kochi, India, a part of the diversified business conglomerate Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG), also called as Muthoot Blue, wins the much coveted ‘Global Technician of the Year 2018’ award from Jaguar Land Rover.
More than 16,000 workshop experts from 30 countries participated in the competition that tested the depths of their technical know how and skills. The candidates were judged on five grounds- Powertrain, Electrical, Procedure, Chassis and Knowledge. There was also a round of troubleshooting a vehicle within a time limit of one hour, to sums things up and decide on the winner. Sajeesh Kumar topped the scores for all the tests and also received great appreciation from the jury for his technical capabilities and top level of competency, finally emerging as the winner.
In a ceremony held in Fed End, UK on October 25,2018, Sajeesh Kumar was declared the ‘Global Technician Of The Year 2018’ and was awarded a Snap-on toolkit worth approximately INR 3 Lakhs along with cash reward and a trip to Japan to be a part of the Rugby World Cup 2019.

‘Global Technician Of The Year’ award is an annual competition where technicians from across the world battle on grounds of technical expertise. Top 50 technicians from respective markets are taken forth for the finals. The winners are chosen on the basis of the performance in the on-ground task, with scoring spread across multiple parameters including proficiency and knowledge level of the participant.
