It previews what the first-ever electric vehicle from Isuzu will look like. The production guise of D-Max BEV will make its global debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show, scheduled to commence from March 27 to April 7.

Isuzu D-Max EV Specifications

The D-Max BEV has achieved sustainability without sacrificing its payload or towing capacities. The electric pickup truck will have 1,000 kg payload capacity and will be able to tow up to 3.5 tonnes- the same numbers as the ICE truck.

Underpinned by the same ladder-frame chassis as the ICE vehicle, the electric D-Max will be equipped with a 66.9 kWh battery pack and two electric motors. It will thus have AWD. The D-Max EV’s electric powertrain is capable of producing 177hp (14hp more than the diesel D-Max sold in India) and 325Nm. The front-axle motor produces 53 hp and 108 Nm, while the rear e-axle does 121 hp and 217 Nm.

Isuzu has been tight-lipped about the range figures of its first-ever EV. The electric DMax will have a top speed of 130kph.

Isuzu D-Max Hybrid In Plans!

The manufacturer is expected to unveil a mild hybrid version of D-Max, sometime soon. It could hit production in the coming years, and would compete with the likes of the Hilux mild-hybrid.
