Jaguar F-Type Gets Four Cylinder Ingenium Petrol Engine

Zero to hundred comes in as low as 5.7 seconds!

Jaguar Land Rover India has finally given their much popular sportscar, the F-Type, a new state-of-the-art four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine. Thus, the enchanting British sportscar now hosts a variety of engine options to choose from, right from the entry- level 4 cylinder mill to the monstrous 5 litre supercharged V8 of the F-Type SVR, an all-weather supercar that can rush to as big a figure as 322 km/h.

The Ingenium mill has given the car a massive advantage on the kerb-weight front, chopping around 52kg off the car (mostly from the front axles), something that is well complemented by its lightweight Aluminium body. The 2.0 Litre turbocharged petrol motor putting out around 221 kW and the reduced body weight have both contributed to a more agile driving experience.  Diligent tuning of the chassis has led to serious betterments in steering response, body control and ride comfort. The entry-level F Type gets a finely tuned active exhaust as standard, while the R-Dynamics trims feature a switchable active exhaust for an even more involving driving experience.

Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL), told the media: “We are very excited about the introduction of the 2.0 l engine on the F-TYPE. This will make our sportscar brand more accessible to Jaguar fans and customers across the spectrum. Enthusiasts are sure to be thrilled by the appeal of this pure breed F-TYPE with its own unique driving character.”
