Expect the first Hybrid Land Rover in 2019 and the I-Pace by 2020!
Jaguar Land Rover India finally discloses its plans of launching the electrified product range in the country. The brand has been keen in sprinting towards the fruition of sustainable mobility dreams globally, with the electric Jaguar I Pace SUV amassing huge acclaim in the international markets. They had earlier revealed plans of electrifying their entire portfolio globally by 2020.
It is in connection with this commitment towards sustainable mobility that Jaguar Land Rover has now come up with the idea of launching multiple electrified products, from Hybrid vehicles to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), in India, starting from 2019.
The first hybrid vehicle to come from the Jaguar Land Rover house would be a Hybrid Land Rover SUV, that would make its ways to the country towards the end of 2019. JLR would bring in its thoroughly applauded Battery Electric Vehicle, the Jaguar I Pace electric SUV later in 2020.
Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL) said: “Jaguar Land Rover’s focus is to commit itself to a more sustainable future and our engineers have developed just the right products to lead us on this path. The introduction of electrified vehicles in Jaguar Land Rover India’s portfolio is in line with the government’s thrust towards electric vehicles. The company is encouraged by the introduction of FAME-II by the Government of India and its focus on expansion of the charging infrastructure in the country. This is bound to help with faster adoption of all kinds of Electric Vehicles in due course.”
Jaguar Land Rover currently has a wide stretched portfolio in the Indian market. The manufacturer had recently been in news following a price hike across their range.
