JLR-NVIDIA partnership will spawn its first products by 2025
Jaguar Land Rover has announced a multi-year global partnership with NVIDIA for developing software for AI-based driving solutions and connected services for its future portfolio. NVIDIA is currently the leader in the AI space and will develop and deliver next-gen automated driving tech to JLR.
The first products of the partnership are expected to roll out by 2025, when the Jaguar and Land Rover models will be built on the NVIDIA DRIVE platform. These would have a wide range of active safety, automated driving and parking systems, along with efficient driver assistance and various in-cabin AI experiences.
The full-stack software would be powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion, featuring DRIVE Orin centralized AV computers- DIRVE AV and DRIVE IX, safety and security systems, powerful networking architecture, and surround sensors. AI-based DRIVE Orin will gel in and work with the Jaguar Land Rover operating system, to realise the experience.
JLR will use in-house developed data centre solutions with NVIDIA DGX for training AI models and DRIVE Sim software built on NVIDIA Omniverse for real-time simulation. The system would also support ‘Over The Air’ updates.
