‘Made in India with pride’ Mahindra Thar has finally made us even more proud !
we are extremely delighted to see the homegrown brands, Mahindra and TATA scoring good numbers in NCAP crash tests. The new Mahindra Thar was put through a series of assessment tests by Global NCAP under the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign. The offroader scored 12.52 marks out of 17.00 in the Adult Occupant protection category with four stars and 41.11 out of 49.00 in the Child Occupant category constituting to a significant average of 4 stars.
The new-gen Thar was launched here in October and it indeed conformed to the expectations and has succeeded in growing the Thar community. These GNCAP results now make for the icing on the cake.
The tested car was equipped with 2 front airbags, which came standard right from the base trim. The tests were performed at 64kmph, and included the frontal offset deformable barrier test. GNCAP added that the off-roader also meets the side impact UN 95 regulation as well, Bliss!
The Thar is offered with two engine options to choose from, a 2.2L diesel and an all-new 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol. You can have either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic with both engine options. The vehicle has reaped over 20,000 bookings as of now and Mahindra plans to proliferate the production to meet the demands.4
