Mahindra has launched a new variant to the popular XUV 700- Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select (AX5 S). The XUV 700 AX5 S is available with both petrol and diesel powertrains, with manual and automatic transmissions, priced from Rs 16.89 Lakhs. This new variant only comes in the 7-seater configuration.

On the XUV portfolio, the AX5 S variant sits between the AX3 and AX5, aiming to make more features available to a larger consumer crowd.

Think of the new Mahindra XUV700 AX5 S as a ‘toned down’ AX5 that’s been stripped off several features like 17-inch diamond cut alloys, LED headlights, ESC, Drive Modes, curtain airbags, LED sequential turn indicators, cornering lamp, reverse camera, cruise control and fog lamps.

What features does it get? Well, there are things like a large panoramic sunroof, Dual 10.24-inch HD screens, Push-Button Start/Stop, Adrenox with 75+ Connected Features, Amazon Alexa Built-in, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 Speakers with Sound Staging, etc.

Mahindra XUV 700 AX5 S Specifications

The XUV700 AX5 Select variant is available in both petrol and diesel, with the choice of manual and automatic transmissions. This essentially signals absolutely no changes made on the mechanical front.

The 2.0L turbo-petrol (mStallion) engine produces 200hp and 380 Nm, while the 2.2 mHawk diesel churns out 185hp and 420 Nm. With the AISIN-sourced 6AT, the diesel XUV 700 makes 450 Nm. Mahindra has recently been launching updates and new variants of the XUV 700. The SUV recently got a budget-friendly 7-seater MX variant and a ‘Blaze edition’ limited to just 2500 units. We also expect a major facelift to launch towards the end of this year or by next year, which could be called ‘XUV 7XO’.
