The Maybach could get costlier by up to 12 lakh
Mercedes-Benz India, India’s largest luxury car manufacturer, has announced an upcoming price hike for April 2023. Across the portfolio, Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs would get expensive by up to 5%, from April 2023. The proposed hike follows the January 2023 revision, which increased MB prices by up to 7 lakhs.
The company has cited several factors as reasons, for the April hike- including the depreciation in currency value and rising input and logistics costs.
How Much Could The Prices Go Up?
The price of the A Class limousine and GLA SUV will be increased by 2 lakhs, while the range-topping S 350d limousine will see a price hike of 7 lakhs. The most expensive vehicle from Mercedes-Benz in India- Maybach S 580 luxury limousine, will get costlier by 12 lakhs.

Reasons For The Price Hike
The Indian rupee has been depreciating against the Euro for some time now, which has resulted in an increase in the cost of importing components and the CBUs, for Mercedes-Benz India. The company has also cited rising input costs, including the cost of steel and other raw materials used in local manufacturing, as contributing to the decision to raise prices.
Logistics costs have also been a significant factor in the price hike, with transportation and associated costs increasing steeply recently. This has put considerable pressure on the overall operational cost of the company, necessitating the hike.
