The prices for the MG Hector Plus 3 row SUV start at INR 13.49 lakh
Morris Garages has launched the 3-row iteration of the Hector SUV in India. The MG Hector Plus, as it is dubbed, comes in as a six-seater with captain seats in place for the second row. MG had started accepting bookings for the new car last week. The price for the Hector Plus start at INR 13.49 lakh and go all the way up to 18.54 lakh.
Targetted at the chauffeur-driven SUV buyers, the Hector Plus offers premium space and comfort in the second row. The third row is definitely not for the space savvy, and MG likes to call it ‘for teenagers’. The Hector Plus is currently available as a 6 seater, while a 7 seater is heard to join the clan on a later date. As opposed to the regular Hector’s all black upholstery, the Hector Plus gets its interiors finished in tan brown leatherette.
Talking about the feature and equipment lists, the Hector Plus gets hands free operation for the tail gate and ‘chitchat’ feature for the connected car system, in addition to the features onboard the 5 seater. The key design changes on the Hector Plus include refreshed bumpers at both the front and at the rear, revamped headlamps and retouched grille. There are six interesting paint schemes for the 6 seater Hector.
There are three engine options available on the Hector Plus, viz- 2.0L diesel putting out 170hp, 1.5L petrol with 143hp and the same with a 48V mild hybrid integration. A 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT transmissions are also being offered.
The 6 seater MG Hector currently has no direct rivals in the market. The aging Mahindra XUV500 could be called the closest rival. Time still remains until the likes of 7 seater Creta and the Tata Gravitas make their market entries.
