Okaya Faast will compete against the Ather 450 Plus.
Indian battery-manufacturer Okaya launched its new high-speed e-scooter Faast at an introductory price of Rs 89,999, at the EV Expo 2021. The Gurugram-based manufacturer now has a total of three electric scooters in its portfolio.
Faast has a top speed of 60-70 KMPH and would offer a range of around 150-200 kilometers. It gets a 4.4 kW Lithium phosphate battery pack, which would take 3-4 hours for a full-charge. The scooter is IoT-enabled, gets all-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, daytime running lights, and a combi brake system. The model is available with dual-tone paint schemes with colors red, grey, green, and white.
The EV can be bought via Okaya website and through its dealerships, and against a down payment of Rs 1,999. The company is also expected to launch in 2022, an electric motorcycle named Ferrato, a prototype of which was showcased at the EV Expo.
Okaya claims they have developed a fast-charging mechanism for e-scooters, and the new model is entirely made in India. It has also opened 225 dealerships across the country to speed up the deliveries. Deliveries of Okaya Faast will begin in January 2022, and it will be competing against the likes of Ola Electric S1 and Ather 450 Plus, among other models.
