Skoda Karoq SUV Spotted Ahead Of India Launch!

The Skoda Karoq SUV has been spotted prior to its official market debut in the country, apparently while on the transit to the dealer. Here’s more

Skoda is readying the all-new Skoda Karoq SUV for an imminent market launch in the country. The official launch of the car has is slated for May 26. While we are waiting for the official launch date to arrive, a couple of pictures have now surfaced on the internet which show a production-ready Karoq being driven on the roads with minimum camouflage. The car has the familiar white tape wrap on, indicating that it could have been on the transit to a dealer at the time of the capture.

The images show the rear end of a white car which has the signature ‘Skoda’ lettering wisely masked off. The Karoq is the second Skoda model in India to flaunt the lettering instead of the conventional Skoda logo, after the recently launched Skoda Kodiaq Scout. The Karoq is known to come in six different shades and in a single fully loaded trim level.

The Skoda Karoq would satisfy the style-savvy and tech-savvy alike with its stylish LED headlamps, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, 18-inch wheels, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Smartlink connectivity, power-adjustable driver’s seat, etc. Talking about the mechanicals, the Karoq would come with a 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engine letting out 148hp and 250Nm, mated to Volkswagen’s familiar 7 speed DSG. Safety on this car is no short of being supreme in standards, with 9 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Parktronic system, etc on offer.

Almost every bit of detail is known about the car save for its pricing, which will be revealed at the time of the launch. Skoda will bring in this model via CBU. Thus we expect it to have a slight price premium, and the figures to tip the scale somewhere around INR 20 lakh. Skoda India is already taking orders for the Karoq. The manufacturer is planning to commence deliveries later after the launch and in a phased manner. The deliveries would begin with the green zones.
