Swiggy To Use TVS Electric Scooters For Deliveries

TVS could launch a B2B product for Swiggy, reveals an MoU between the two!

Swiggy and TVS Motors have signed an MoU to strengthen the use of electric Scooters in food delivery and other services. Swiggy will include more electric scooters manufactured by TVS Motor Company in its fleet. The iQube continues to be the only all-electric product from TVS at the moment, and thus the partnership could start off with the same. TVS iQube has a 4.4kW Motor powered by a 2.25kWh battery pack. It is currently been sold in 33 cities pan India and is soon to debut in more.

The MoU also hints at a need-specific product being developed. This would essentially mean the manufacturer rolling out a B2B-specific, utilitarian product sometime soon. This seems convincing considering the immense commitment the TVS has been having towards EVs and their development. Cementing these anticipations, a utility-focussed TVS electric scooter prototype was recently spotted testing as well, featuring luggage racks and a purpose-oriented design.

Talking of Swiggy, the food delivery company is looking to cover 800,000 km every day on Electric Vehicles by 2025. The MoU with TVS will take it a step or two closer to this vision.
