Here are the top things to know about the new HOP OXO electric motorcycle
Indian EV brand HOP Electric Mobility has launched its newest electric motorcycle- HOP OXO, with prices starting from Rs 1.25 lakh. While scooters continue to remain the hotshots in the electric two wheeler space, OXO aims to bring more heat to electric motorcycles with the OXO. Much buzz had earlier been created around this motorcycle, and the same seems to have translated into bookings. HOP reveals that OXO has garnered 5000+ pre-bookings! Booking amount stands at Rs 999 and can be done through Hop’s official website or via HOP experience centers. Deliveries are expected to commence from October 1, 2022.
The HOP electric bike is available in two variants- OXO and OXO X. Both are straight pitches to those who are looking to invest in, say an Ather or an OLA, on pricing grounds. OXO’s possible motorcycle rivals could include Oben Rorr, Revolt RV400, and the Okinawa electric bikes.

HOP OXO Electric Motorcycle: What Is It?
HOP OXO looks much like a regular motorcycle. The battery sits comfortably under the tank and does’nt look absurd in its placement. However, a few regular sightings on modern day ‘electric scooters’ go missing here- like LED headlamps ( that could have possibly contributed to the range!), speakers for audio and notification playbacks and cruise control. However, there are featrues like a park assist, reverse mode, USB charging, anti-theft alarm, an internet enabled 5-inch smart LCD display with mobile app connectivity and telematics etc.

In terms of powertrain, the OXO gets a rear hub-mounted motor that produces 8 hp (6.2 kW) and 200 Nm, mated to a 3.7 kWh batterypack (72V architecture). The vehicle offers 3 selectable ride modes- Eco, power and Sport. The top-spec OXO X gets an additional ‘Turbo’ mode as well. The top speed is a good 95 kph on the OXO X, and the max range (in Eco) is 150 km (expect true range of 100 odd kilometers!) Smart charging feature allows 0-80% charging in 4 hours time.
